AFF Futsal notch first win

AFF Futsal have taken a big step towards the National Women’s Futsal League semi-finals after a 5-1 win over Northern Futsal in Wellington.

A first half goal blitz from Jess Verdon, Hannah Kraakman and Gemma Lewis set AFF Futsal on their way to victory as they led 3-0 at the break.

An early goal by Maxine Cooper in the second half put AFF Futsal in a commanding position.

That sense of comfort was put under threat when Hannah Reddy pulled one back for Northern midway through the second half.

Impressive individual performances from Verdon, Lewis, Cooper and Kraakman leave AFF Futsal in a positive frame of mind for the matches ahead.

The victory means a win in their next game should be more than enough to see AFF Futsal throught to the semi-finals.

AFF Futsal take on Central Futsal Hawke’s Bay in their next game.

The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 25 February.
