PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Background

The AFF Performance Programme aims to provide players with the opportunity to begin on the elite pathway and achieve their maximum potential.

The Performance programme environment exposes players to an excellence culture that intends to nurture and educate players with a career pathway leading to national selection.

It is an evolving programme designed to challenge players throughout their development with national integration a key target.

How to get into the Performance Programme

Players are nominated by their clubs, and undergo a trial process to determine their suitability for the programme. The AFF Selection Policy will be available shortly for further details such as selection criteria and the selection process.

Development Programme

The programme consists of regular training and competition.

Trainings take place across three terms of the school year – with more intensive training outside the regular club season (i.e. September to April).

Contact time is normally three times per week out of season, and once per week in season - this could be in the form of training sessions or games.
