Without volunteers sport in New Zealand would not exist. The many hours that dedicated individuals donate every week so our players can participate in what they love doing is at times over looked! Sport NZ is once again helping our community recognise the huge contribution volunteers play in running and developing sport in our communities.

The 2012 annual volunteer awards are now open to receive nominations following the link below.

Three overall winners will be selected per region (Counties Manukau Sport, Sport Auckland and Sport Waitakere) and one will be put forward for the Sport NZ National Award.

The three local regional winners will receive $250 worth of sports vouchers provided by Sport NZ. Sport NZ will also draw thirty random nominations to receive $50 sports store vouchers.

A national winner will be selected from 17 finalists for the title of ‘Sport Volunteer of the Year’. With the winner in attendance, the winner will be announced at the New Zealand Sport and Recreation Awards in April 2013.
