General Manager - Hibiscus Coast AFC (HBCAFC)  

Hibiscus Coast AFC (HBCAFC) are inviting applications for the role of General Manager. 
HBCAFC, is an amateur volunteer-based run football club situated on the Hibiscus Coast in Stanmore Bay. However, our members cover the entire Rodney area.

We have over 1100 members registered for the winter season (from ages 4 to over 45years old) and are continuing to grow. We have seen phenomenal growth of the Club in the last ten years (from 300 member to over 1100 for Winter programme alone). There is remarkable growth in the Rodney area, estimated 15,000 new homes in the district (over 3,000 built in the past 5 years) and increasing as more land becomes available.

Other programmes we run include:

  • Football In Schools Programmes – we are currently in 15 primary schools in the Rodney area.
  • College Programmes – we are currently in 3 of the local colleges with discussions being held with a further 2 colleges close to our Club.
  • Academy Programmes – develop our club members skills as well as players from other clubs
  • Summer Football – in-house summer leagues for school aged children and for Seniors on separate nights – approximately 1,400 members

Western Springs - Head of Football

Western Springs AFC are seeking to appoint a Head of Men’s Football at the club. 

The Head of Men’s Football is a fulltime position responsible for the continued development and implementation of the Western Springs Football philosophy and programme. The key focus will be to deliver successful outcomes for our elite players and teams for the Men, Youth and Juniors.  The role will work in close collaboration with the Head of Women’s Football and Head of Junior & Youth Football, building a highly effective team environment amongst the coaching and operational staff at the club.  

The Head of Men’s Football will lead the development of all men’s and boy’s elite football programmes at WSAFC. The role will be responsible for reviewing, refining, and implementing a Springs approach and philosophy to football, focussed on the men’s and boy’s game. The programmes will deliver coaching and player development to make our men’s and boy’s programme a leading programme in NZ. The goal will be to have a continual stream of home-grown talent entering and performing at the club’s Premier level. The Head of Men’s Football will secure and manage relationships that provide pathways for the developed talent to progress onto football scholarships, professional football environments and international honours. 

In leading this program, the Head of Men’s Football will also be the Head Coach of the WSAFC  Men’s Northern League and Men’s National League squads. 

The successful applicant will have a strong teamwork ethic and be comfortable and competent in contributing to building a Western Springs coaching and operational team, which delivers personal growth, support and maximises all football and player outcomes at Western Springs.  

You will already have a passion for, and detailed knowledge of, the dynamics of Men’s club football. You will most likely have worked in and around Men’s sport and are looking for the chance to help lead change in the Men’s football space. 

It is imperative that applicants must have at a bare minimum an OFC C Licence qualification and have at least three years prior experience in similar roles.   

Be able to pass a NZ Police Vetting process for working with children. 

Committed to working non-traditional hours and weekends. 

The tasks and skills outlined above provide a guideline to the requirements of the role.  However, as in the case with sport, the position may require some flexibility regarding the type of work required and the number of hours worked each week.  Weekends and evening work will be required for the role. 

The position will report directly to a delegate of the Executive Committee.
